Music

At Fountain Street Church, music has long been an essential part of worship services. In addition to welcoming talented local and regional musicians to the sacred stage, FSC members have their own choirs and instrumental performance groups, which are often accompanied by the church's five-manual, 7980-pipe Austin/Allen organ -- one of the largest and most celebrated pipe organs in the Midwest -- or the 1920s Steinway Model B grand piano. Performance energy is bolstered by the church's rich history of great performers. Current music programs include:

FSC Adult Choir

Directed by Austin McWilliams, the 25-member FSC Adult Choir participates almost every Sunday during the school year, singing a wide variety of music representing diverse styles and traditions. This choir rehearses on Thursdays from 7:00pm to 9:00pm.

Oratorio Memorial Choir

The Oratorio Memorial Choir rehearses several months each winter to prepare major works for an early-spring concert with a professional orchestra. This choir rehearses on Saturdays from 10:00am to 12:00pm in the months prior to the concert. Announcements about the Oratorio Choir and Memorial Concert are generally made in late fall.
