Social Justice Film Series

Fountain Street began a social justice film series during the past church year, showing ten films centered on the theme of anti-racism. This year we are continuing the series with a different focus for each film. We began with a documentary on immigration and pluralism, “Garden City, Kansas,” and followed with the film “Milk,” featuring the life of Harvey Milk, the first openly gay man to be elected to public office in California. The following films are currently planned in the coming weeks and months: “Crip Camp: A Disability Revolution,” about the disability rights movement and “The Soloist,” based on the true story of a prodigy violinist who developed schizophrenia and lived for years on the streets of Skid Row in LA.

A discussion is held following each film led by someone connected to the theme of each film.

For more information contact Penny Barstow regarding future dates and titles.
