INTEREST GROUPS

Looking for a community or fellowship group? Check out some on-going groups below! If you are interested in finding out more about how to get involved in these groups, please connect with the contact person listed below each group name.

Founding Fathers

Are you a guy who likes craft beer and wants to find some community?  If you have a thirst for something more in life, join us at the local breweries. This group gets together on the last Thursday of every month. Cheers, and let everyone "know your name!"

FSC Gardeners

Do you love working in the dirt or supporting the growth of our FSC flower beds? A group of volunteers come together to plant and maintain our flowerbeds on the FSC property around the outside of the building. We celebrate all the work we do throughout the year by gathering for an Annual Spring Tea at a member’s lovely garden to celebrate the work we do. Come and fellowship with us!

FSC Softball Team

While we still haven’t been entirely successful in the win/loss category, our team developed resolve to make this season even better! Games are played at Manhattan and Wealthy Elementary.

Kayak Club

This group is open to anyone who enjoys kayaking or learning to kayak, enjoys the outdoors and the wonders of nature, and can laugh off a bit of rain in the face, or an upset in cold waters. We don't profess to be experts, but will give direction and assistance when asked. We paddle at our own pace, but are always close enough to help each other out. You don't have to own a kayak, as rentals are usually available at a local livery. We often meet for breakfast prior to paddling, and at the conclusion, for a meal at a local pub or brewery. We do enjoy each other's company! Find out more information about our paddling schedule HERE.

Men's Poker & Philosophy Group

Do you want to find a group of guys to connect with in a fun space that provides strong dialogue about life and all of its happenings? Then check out this great group that provides an opportunity to connect with other Fountain Street men and play Poker! This group meets on the 2nd Wednesday of each month from 6-9PM in Room 101 to play cards and discuss a variety of topics. New members are always welcome!

Parents' Circle

An open, inviting, and caring group that invites parents and children to have fun, laugh, and learn. Newcomers are always welcome!

Pride Circle

A safe space for LGBTQIA+ folks to socialize and organize! In-person meetings are every other Wednesday from 6:00 to 7:30pm beginning September 2019 in FSC's 2nd floor Resource Room!

The Practice of A Course In Miracles

Learn “Miracle-Mindedness.” Got joy? This is how to have it, (hint: you already do)! Prior experience with the course is not necessary. New members are always welcome! Meetings take place every Monday, from 7:00-8:30 p.m. in Room 101.

Spiritual Expressions

Group members listen to and discuss selected poetry, prose, or stories, learn poetic forms and writing techniques, and write from intriguing prompts. More discussion follows when group members volunteer to share their written responses. Because we do not critique, an atmosphere of support and acceptance prevails. Meetings take place on the 2nd and 4th Mondays of each month from 7:00-8:30 p.m. in Room 106.

Sunday Morning Book Group

Returning and new participants are always welcome! This group meets on Sundays from 9:45-10:45 a.m. in Room 108.

Wednesday Morning Poetry Reading Group

This group focuses on reading and discussing American and International Poets in a small group setting, which is open and welcoming to all. We read poetry rather than write it, although some have been known to do it quite well! Meetings take place on Wednesday mornings from 10:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m. in Room 108.

Women's Association

As one of the oldest groups still in existence, the purpose of this group is to bring together members to serve the needs of the church and the community through service and financial contributions. Members of the Women’s Association contribute through many volunteer hours of service by assisting with Luncheons, Memorial Services, Blood Drives, and the Annual Trinkets & Treasures Sale. Meetings take place on the 2nd Sunday of each month from 12:30-2:30 p.m. in the Choir Room.

Women's Intergenerational Book Group

On the 4th Monday of each month from 1:00-2:30 p.m. in Room 101, this group gathers to discuss a book previously chosen by the group. (Look for listings in your monthly Chimes newsletter).

Young Adult Circle

This Fountain Street Circle is open to anyone who identifies as a young adult! We meet the 1st Sunday of every month to discuss a new topic, and we plan social or service outings once a month. This is a safe space with great company & conversation. Plus, drinking will definitely be involved!
