Jack E. Woller – Executive Director

Jack joined the FSC team in August after serving as Associate Director of the Grand Rapids Children’s Museum for the last ten years. He is responsible for many of the management functions of the church. Working with the Stewardship and Budget/Finance Committees of the Governing Board, Jack works to craft a balanced budget for the coming year, and will also focus on improving our internal and external communications.

Jack is in the office Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m.- 4:30 p.m. and present at most Sunday services.

Born and raised in Grand Rapids, Jack attended Forest Hills Northern High School and Aquinas College studying Business Administration and Visual Art. He holds certifications in Nonprofit Leadership and Board Leadership from the Dorothy A. Johnson Center for Philanthropy at Grand Valley State University and the DeVos Institute of Arts Management at the University of Maryland. He is also currently pursuing a degree in Public and Nonprofit Administration. Beyond his role at FSC, Jack serves on the Board of the West Michigan Gay Men’s Chorus and the Committee to Honor Cesar E. Chavez. He volunteers for the Children’s Assessment Center, Artists Creating Together, and the YMCA. Jack speaks at conferences and workshops across the country on topics ranging from leadership to non-profit financial management.
Jack has been married to his wife and partner Andrea for ten years, and together they have two young daughters and an old grumpy black Lab. Jack enjoys spending time with his kids, illustration, carpentry, learning, and his custom 1978 Puch Magnum Moped.

Melissa Hoezee - Accounting/HR Manager

Melissa joined us in July 2006. She came to us with ten years of accounting experience, a degree in HR Management, a degree in Paralegal Studies, and has obtained her degree in Accounting and Professional in Human Resources certification since coming on board.  Melissa and her daughter live in Wyoming, where you can find them playing with their dogs, reading, or walking in the neighborhood.

Gail McConnell  - Communications Coordinator

Gail has been a member of the FSC office staff for more than 29 years. She is responsible for the monthly newsletter, The Chimes, the Order of Service and Weekly Notes, as well as the weekly Friday Flash. She maintains our membership database and handles all church-wide communications.

Gail has two sons and daughters-in-law, as well as four grandchildren and one great-grandchild. She enjoys reading, sewing, making porcelain dolls, and nurturing her bonsai trees.

Kim Ras - Administrative Assistant

Kim Ras joined the FSC Staff in 2009. Kim's primary responsibility is to assist the very busy Senior Minister. Kim can be reached in the front office Monday-Friday between the hours of 9:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

A born and raised Grand Rapids "Westsider," Kim enjoys reading, writing poetry, fishing, boating, gardening, and volleyball, although cooking is her biggest passion. She also loves animals and spending time with her family and friends. In addition to her other responsibilities, Kim handles the scheduling of all meetings, internal and external events, weddings, and memorial services.  Kim also works with church volunteers to administer the FSC website. Marilyn Ossentjuk - Music Director

Marilyn Ossentjuk, Organist and Director of Music, has been on the FSC music staff since 2001.  She plays the church's magnificent five-manual, 172-rank Austin pipe organ for worship services, weddings, and memorial services and oversees the entire music program.  She directs the FSC Young Singers, for children in elementary school, the FSC Handbell Choir, and the FSC Care Choir and is accompanist for the FSC Church and Oratorio Choirs.  She values the variety of musical styles used in worship services at FSC to reach people's hearts and souls.  Marilyn holds a Masters degree (with honors) in Church Music, with an emphasis in Organ Studies, from the University of Michigan.  She also holds undergraduate degrees (with honors) in Vocal Music Education and German from Calvin College.  A member of the music honors society Pi Kappa Lambda, she is active in the American Guild of Organists and the Music Teachers National Association and sings in and accompanies, on organ and harpsichord, the Grand Rapids Bach Chorale.  She frequently performs on organ throughout west Michigan and has also studied and performed at the North German Organ Academy.  Marilyn and her husband, James Kunnen, are the happy parents of their son, Joseph.  In addition to cherishing time spent with family and friends, Marilyn is an advanced master gardener and a member of Grand Rapids' local native plant group, River City Wild Ones.  She also makes time in her life to continue studying and growing as a musician and to continue working through her ever-expanding bucket list of organ, piano, and harpsichord pieces she wants to learn.
