Beyond Sunday districts

Purple District

Purple District members reside in the eclectic Eastown neighborhood, Ottawa Hills and East Grand Rapids. Your district leader is Judy Botts and can be contacted at: bottsj50@sbcglobal.net. We come together to socialize and to support three on-going focus areas of FSC: education, environmental sustainability and social action issues. Our goal is "to grow connections" among our members by way of the variety of activities we participate in.

Some of those events include:

  • Hosting a soup luncheon with the Orange District each year
  • Potluck gatherings at FSC
  • Saturday or Sunday morning breakfast at a local eatery
  • Potluck dinners held at congregants' homes, one in the fall and one in the winter
  • Assembling and delivering welcome baskets in March for new residents of Dwelling Place
  • Assisting with the Christmas Elf project
  • Hosting Bingo Night at Ferguson Place, a Dwelling Place community in downtown GR
  • Assisting with memorial services in January and June
  • Helping district members with rides and meals
  • Setting up for the all church picnic in June

If your family has care needs, please call the church at 616-459-8386. To be added to our district email list, please contact Gail McConnell at: gmcconnell@fountainstreet.org.
