Red District

As members of Fountain Street Church, we want you to be (and feel like) a viable part of your church family. It's a large family, and we know that the connection can be hard to make, but Beyond Sunday and the Red District is here to help.

Who are we? We are Tom & Suellen Bandyk,  John & Anne Grima, Linda Hartman, Dan & Jola Royer, Monica Stegemen, and Nicole Stafford - your Red District Coordinators. As district coordinators, it will be our job to bring Red District members together as a viable part of Fountain Street Church. We will do that by providing opportunities for you to group action and personal interaction. Our group will provide service to each other, and to the community around us. Often, friendship and support is what we want and need, and likewise, the community around us can use our help in a number of ways. As district coordinators, we have chosen to focus the Red District's energies on children and education. We are continuing a partnership with the Grand Rapids Montessori School  with support of various kinds including the 2008 Christmas Wish Tree program.  The Red District led a church-wide program that provided school supply type gifts to teachers and staff at the Montessori School. We contributed almost $500 in cash and TONS of things like dictionaries, electric pencil sharpeners, hoola hoops,  a vacumn cleaner, sporting equipment and much much more. We made a difference. We Changed the world.

There Are Always Opportunities For You To Help & Be a Part of FSC!

Hope all is well and that you are well on your way to making 2010 a special year of Freeing your Mind, Growing your Soul, and Changing the World.  The thought of "Changing the World" brings to mind some larger-than-life person, achieving some superhuman feat for the betterment of all mankind.  That's all well and good, but much smaller accomplishments are good too; they are great as a matter of fact!  Changing the world is changing the world - we are not measuring the degree of change.  Sometimes, you can't measure the impact of what you do, but it can be BIG!  Everyday, we have opportunities to change the world for someone or some group of someones.  If you are looking for a way, you don't need to look far.

Have you ever thought of being an Usher or a Greeter at church?  This volunteer position is not difficult, but is very important.  As an Usher or Greeter, you are at the leading edge of FSC as you become, in many cases, a stranger's first impression.  You would be able to choose your own level of commitment; choose a light work schedule or a heavier one.  This is one great way to be a part of FSC!  If you want to learn more, please contact This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it .

Red News!

March 21st - Reds & Blues will join together to prepare another Soup or Something Lunch after the Worship Service.  It's always fun to work together and we've done a number of successful lunches so we know how to put it all together.  We will need help with shopping, before Service in the kitchen, during Service in the kitchen, and then the grand presentation at 12:15 p.m.!  Of course, there's clean-up too, we even know how to do that quick and easy!  If you want in on the fun, please contact This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it .

Want To Volunteer Your Skills To A Good Cause?

The Choice Fund is looking for people who are fairly comfortable around a computer.  The Choice Fund is seeking help to support the cause with a few hours of your time.  You don't need to be a computer genius, just be comfortable working on one.  This isn't a huge commitment, so if you want to get involved in the world around FSC, please contact Betsy VanderCook at (616) 452-7709.
