Worship Times

From September to the end of June, Worship Services are held in the Sanctuary each Sunday from 11 a.m. to noon. Song and spoken word are emphasized in an atmosphere of beauty and dignity. An magnificent organ, adult, teen, and junior choirs and guest artists perform both traditional and contemporary music. Sermons draw from Biblical and modern literature. People of diverse theological persuasions find the experience inspiring and spiritual.

Special Sunday Services are held on Mother's Day, when children are formally dedicated, on Halloween Sunday with the "March of the Goblins" and on Memorial Day and Thanksgiving Sundays. The four festive Sundays of Christmas Advent season culminate in a candlelight Christmas Eve Service. Palm Sunday and Easter are celebrated, as are Yom Kippur and Passover.

Our Summer Services will begin on June 27, 2010, when Worship gatherings move from our Sanctuary to the air-conditioned Chapel!  Fred and Matthew step aside to let FSC members lead the sermon each Sunday through the Summer.  We have some great speakers lined up for this year.  Be sure to join us if you're in town!  Click here to see what we have in store for you!

Early Service Update

Wondering what Sunday mornings are going to look like come September?  Well, Fred, Matthew, and a committed group of Fountain Streeters are in the process of crafting a template for what our early Worhip will look like.  You may recall that Character School families requested an earlier Worship Service so they could be spiritually fed before joining in the work of our children's learning ministries.  We have committed to this for one Church year, (September - June).  Worship will occur in the Chapel at 9:45 a.m.  It will explore similar themes to those being raised in the 11:00 a.m. Service that day, though the music and ritual will be different.  Want a piece of the action?  Want to help craft this new and exciting Worship experience?  Please contact Matthew Cockrum at either (616) 459-8386 ext. 215 or This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it .
