Common Quest Bookstore

If you’ve heard an author interviewed by Diane Rehm or Katie Couric, chances are, their book will appear on the shelves of Common Quest Bookstore. Tucked into the corner of the Social Hall, the Common Quest Bookstore is open each Sunday from 10:30 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.

The store is bigger than it looks. Titles change weekly and its two proprietors, Pat Huber and Jean Springer, will gladly take special orders. “We try to stay current and stock the books people are talking about. We get two or three suggestions every week that we usually follow-up on,” says Huber.

Titles run the gamut of popular hardcover and paperback books, including poetry, politics, religion, psychology, biography, science, crafts, cookbooks and many popular children’s books. Recent authors have included Daniel Schorr, Tom Brokaw and Barbara Kingsolver. The bookstore also carries the works of Drs. Littlefair and Rankin, books by West Michigan poets and books ordered by church discussion groups.

New titles are purchased weekly at Schuler Books at a 20% discount and sold at the market price. We can’t sell them for less than other bookstores, but our proceeds go to support the Pastor’s Funds and various renovation projects within the church. We also frequently have good buys on sale books.
