There are many small, easy changes you can make to your home to make it healthier for you and the planet.
Presenters:
Dan Reyers from Clean It Green: Learn how to make your own non-toxic cleaning products. Thinking of painting or carpeting? Learn about low-VOC paints and environmentally friendly carpet choices. Deb Shimmel from West Michigan Eco-Center Introducing local access to a variety of household products that will contribute to healthier homes and sustainable living. Product coverage includes: water conservation, composting tools, renewable resource tableware, landfill conservation, chemical-free bedding, chemical-free yard, garden and pest control and much more
Mark Bauer from Bauer Power: This local company specializes in installing renewable energy water heaters and electrical systems. Learn how to lower your energy costs and reduce your home's contribution to global warming. Additionally, Mark will share info on the 2007 federal income tax credits for energy efficiency improvements.
Short presentations will be followed by Q&A
The topics include: Carpet made from corn (that is also recycled by the manufacturer) Green cleaning services and products (including recipes to make your own) Low-odor paints, Sustainable products for your home available at the West Michigan Eco-Center (compact fluorescent bulbs, organic bedding, sugar cane fiber disposable cups and plates and much more), 2007 tax credits available for energy efficiency improvements, Renewable energy water heaters and electrical systems. Many handouts will be available. Child care will be available if needed.
