From Your Governing Board:
December, the last month of Autumn and the usherer in of Winter, will be a busy month for the Board.
After more than 3 months in the making and 3 weeks of response, the Congregational Survey is complete. The responses were tremendous, with better than 50% of you responding.
We now have a good snap shot of who we are and where we need to go. Thank you. More later.
On Sunday, November 15th, we held the Annual Meeting and unanimously approved our 2010 Proposed Budget. We re-elected Gayla Jewell, Mark Olthoff, and Wendy Marty, and added 2 new members, David Dorr and Don Tuitel to the Board, each of 3-year terms. Congratulations!
We also said thank you to Tom Dandridge and John Considine, retiring Board Members.
Our work is often thankless and unseen, but know we strive with passion to keep the FSC liberal message vibrant and viable. We have too much to do, yet we continue to be more efficient, learning from our history, and striving to better understand how to make Policy Governance work better for us.
In the meantime, I will finishing raking the leaves, installing storm windows, bedding the annuals for Winter, and move the Koi pond into the aquarium. Preparing for the holidays is bittersweet as we reflect on simpler ways, old patterns, and staying warm. The white frozen and chilling Winter will soon restrict us to the interior spaces as another cycle ends, leaving memories of green, blue, and often sunnier days.
By the month's end, our days will start growing longer with the hope that Advent will soon bring joy of the New Year, long days, more light, and more opportunities to reflect on our dreams.
