Child Care
We offer a welcoming environment with lots of free play, books and craft projects so parents
can attend our adult education programs on Sunday morning.
Sundays, 9:40 – 10:50 A.M., Room 203
Nursery – We offer nursery care for children from birth to age 2 each Sunday morning on the 2nd floor from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. At least one paid nursery care worker (CPR and 1st Aid certified) is present along with volunteers depending on the number of children. We may ask that you donate some time in the nursery depending on your availability and our staffing. It’s a light, airy, and beautiful place to spend some time on a Sunday morning.
Pre-School & Kindergarten – Ministry to and with our pre-school and kindergarten-aged children is the beginning of learning about religion, religious community, and religious leaders. Through free play, dramatic play, stories, meditation, and even snack, young children can learn, grow, and explore. We invite children to explore issues of fairness, kindness, service, and working with people who are different than them. In 2010 we will begin incorporating some aspects of a model of education inspired by the Reggio Emilia school in Reggio, Italy. For updates on our progress, please contact our Character School Director, Lydia Stubbs, at either (616) 459-8386 ext. 226 or This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it .
Grown-ups with pre-schoolers are asked to sign their children in before the Worship Service begins and to sign them out after the Service concludes.
