New Orleans Spring Break 2008 Page
Our Fountain Club youth and advisors had safe trip to the New Orleans area, leaving Friday night and arriving on Sunday. They spent their first hours in the Big Easy taking in sights, including a "Swamp Tour" on airboats, complete with alligator sightings!
Dinner was at a Cajun diner where the group enjoyed good food...music...and dancing.
Monday was a day of working on repainting the DuLac community center.
Tuesday was spent working on the home of an elderly woman who has been displaced. The work involved drywalling....mudding and removing debris. Some of the items recovered were personal effects such as photographs...electric bills and clothing, the kids are finding it both touching and difficult.
Evening worship...basketball....and a chicken gu
mbo rounded out the day.
